10:39 PM || TiKi TAHiTi aka Sadies ’03 was last night @ Powerhouse. I had a fun time w/ my date, Victor! Thanks Vic! The only thing that I can complain about was the fact that the dance floor was freaking small & I couldn’t even move a foot without bumping into another couple getting their groove on. Consequently, all the bodies moving together all at the same time caused so much body heat that everyone was stinkin’ with sweat as they danced. It was pretty gross. The air conditioner didn’t help much either. The DJ sucked too. And why did it seem as if there were more people playing games than there were dancing? Isn’t the point of a dance to actually DANCE? laughoutloud. It was kinda funny actually.
Getting ready for the dance wasn’t so bad either. After school, I walked with Josie and her brother to their house, where I washed my hair and she French braided it for me. It was funny though cause Josie is such a perfectionist when it comes to doing hair that she kept wanting to start over since it looked “messy” to her. Haha. I didn’t really care whether it was neat or not since I was gonna take the braids out anyway later on. So after that, we walked back to school to watch the boys’ volleyball games. We missed out on Varsity playing, but they won 3-0 so GOOD JOB to them. JV also won 2-0 over John Glenn, so there’s a big step towards getting League champs. Great job to my BOYS! =) After the game, Jay took Joseph, Howie, and me to my house, where I gave them the rest of the walnut brownies I baked the other night. They thought it was yummy. ;D It seems like every time I bake some goods, they end up going to my friends. Hehe but it’s okay cause sharing is caring right? And I feel the luckiest cause I have such awesome friends! *smile* Then, I got dressed & all that and went to Catherine’s house [the site of the Pre-Dance Makeover Party for every dance] cause she wanted to do my makeup. She always seems to do a good job cause I got many compliments during the night. The one that stood out the most was “You look like Shakira with the hair + makeup. That’s a good thing!” – Jason D. Then Edward picked me up and Victor and Jason D. was in his car as well, and off we were to Gemmie’s house to pick her up. We picked her up, and we finally headed to The Block.
And so the dance started and ended all too quickly, leaving many people disappointed, but also many who thought “it wasn’t so bad after all.” Cat & the girls told me to meet them at Denny’s @ Pioneer, but I guess it wasn’t communicated to me well cause they never showed up. Found out that they went to the one on Beach, but left to Guppy because the Denny’s was packed. Turns out that Victor and I were stuck at Denny’s until we could find a ride home. So we just ate & had a really good conversation about everything despite both of us being really sleepy and tired. Cat called and said she’d pick us up and take us home, so she came and I got home like around 3 almost. It’s okay though cause I made up all of that lost sleep today, when I slept from 3am-3pm, then again from 5:30pm-9:30pm, which brings a total of 16 hours of sleep-time for me. Seems like time goes by SO fast when I’m sleeping though. And so did the brownies that I made this morning. [I started with 15 brownies before my nap and ended up with only 5 left when I awoke from my nap.] So overall, I had a great time at Sadie’s despite the circumstances given. I can’t wait for Prom 2003 when I get to go w/ the coolest ever, Jay! *grin*
P.S. Isn't this layout cute? =)
