10:22 AM || I’m back! It’s been a while since I last blogged. A lot has happened, but the biggest event that’s really blog-worthy was the Nationals MUN conference last week at the Big Apple, NEW YORK. For the millionth time, YES, of course the whole trip was definitely FUN despite the freezing cold weather and “drama.” Everyday was spent doing many different activities, and ended with extra bonding with the roommates [Josie, Christina, Esther.] We went to a lot of the famous tourist places like Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, USS Intrepid, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History, World Financial Center, Empire State Building, and the United Nations building. We also got to go to FAO Schwartz [the largest toy store in the world], Central Park, and lastly, Ground Zero. It was really depressing going to Ground Zero and seeing just a large empty space in the middle of the city. Reading all the letters and looking at those “missing person” signs made me reflect on my life and how much I take it for granted. We watched the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, which I thought was really great. Man, the guys who played the Phantom and Raoul can sing soo well! I was like *sigh.* =) The UN building tour was cool because we actually got to go in the Trusteeship Council while they were in session! So there were delegates there and everything. And the buffet lunch we had afterwards was SO FREAKiNG GOOD! Even the frog legs were delicious. xP I got to see real snow falling too! Most of the week, I couldn’t feel my fingers and toes because it was so cold outside though. The New York group [Josie, Howard, Edward, Adrian, and me] spent a lot of time bonding and talking about stupid things. It was entertaining nonetheless. Even though Committee was kinda boring, Josie and I managed to do a decent job I guess. We got the Award of Excellence for the delegation of Germany! YAY for GERMANY people! We did just as well as last year’s class [minus the research award] so BOOYAH to all the sh.ttalkers! On a last note, I can truly say that the $1500 spent for the trip was well worth it. I love plane rides, but i LOVE MY MUN FAMiLY EVEN MORE! *smile* It's just too bad we couldn't stay any longer. =(
Just some of the memories and highlights of the trip to remind me of this very memorable week: NRBs, the bathroom incident, hiding the boys in the bathroom, coat checks, Ray’s Pizza, “we want Italian!”, gyros, street vendors, “please don’t rob me!”, subway stations, “Lion King” singers, room 1303, room 1102 “the boys’ room”, Eduardo & Enrique Suave, burned microwave, “fivesome”, Pasta Lovers, guy with the gun, walking 20 blocks to shop at H & M, taxi cabs, “hailing the taxi”, frog legs, “sharing charge”, $45 TGI Fridays with Edward, the Korean deli & mad ripoffs/hookups, kimbop, Au Bon Pain bakery, honey walnut cream cheese, freestyle rapper on subway, Lace Gentleman’s Club, Tickle-me-Prabhav, “her feet smells like sour fish & rotten bananas!”, the hot Denmark dude, thongs, delegate dance, teaching Josie how to dance, airplane food, “that white chick was so hot” – Adrian, crazy shopping for I LOVE NY shirts.
